1927 Bronze plaque commemorating May 20-21, 1927, Charles Lindbergh flight crossing the Atlantic Ocean in his Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis and becoming the first pilot to fly solo and nonstop from New York to Paris.
Obverse : Bronze Octagonal plaque with an image Lindbergh's monoplane flying over a globe route representation along a line that runs from New York to Paris. A cherub's mouth blows a favoring wind. Under the plane are the words "PER ASPERA AD ASTRA" (By ho...pe to the stars) globe . Stars are in the upper right-hand corner above the globe.
Reverse: A star inside a circle with wings (Army Wings) is above text that reads COMMEMORATING FIRST NON-STOP NEW YORK TO PARIS FLIGHT BY "CAPT. CHARLES A. LINDBERGH AERONAUTICAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF AMERICA"
