Rare 1940s Military Split - Second Stopwatch By Elgin

This is an RAF issue, 1/5th second stopwatch. Made by Elgin Co. originally for the US Ordnance before being sold to the RAF. The serial number places it as early 1940s. It has some signs of use and some age patina to the nickel casing which has not been cleaned. It was checked over by a watchmaker some years ago and is in good clean working order. The watch chain is hallmarked silver and I suspect may not be original.
