Reference medical book for Urology, written by Edward Keyes, Sr originally, and then in this 5th edition, written by Edward Keyes, Jr., published 1913. It has 7 plates and 195 illustrations. There is a signature of the original owner, Dr. McChesney, Sept 31 1914, and I believe he used this book regularly, which is probably where the tear in the spine came from, pulling it off the shelf. There is very little underlining except on the incontinence and enuresis (bedwetting) section, where... he wrote in the formula for a favorite incontinence prescription. There is a plate of urine samples illustrating gonorrhea, syphilis and tuberculosis! This was written before there were any antibiotics, and interesting to see how Dr. Keyes advised treating these deadly infections. The book is in good condition, especially considering it is 107 years old. There is a tear at the top of the spine, slight staining of the boards, mild toning, and the signature, underlining and inscriptions as noted. If it were in a little better condition I would price it much higher. As it is you can learn about medicine of the World War 1 era without paying a high price.
