Hickok, a Leader in Dependability Since 1910Model 752A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester
The 752 and 752A are famous FAA testers.This 752A model has the 9 and 12 pin compactron sockets. The best feature of this beautiful machine is the dual triode test buttons, you can test both halves of a twin triode without resetting the selectors. Obviously a must if you test a lot of 12AX7 tubes.
Model 752 has 4, 5, 6, & 7 pin octal, loctal, 7 & 9 pin miniature, acorn, and ...subminiature sockets. This 752A model has all of these sockets with the addition of a 9 pin and 12 pin compactron, 10 pin decal, and both types of nuvistor sockets.
Checks mutual transconductance for tube quality test which is the most reliable test known.
Shorts and leakage are indicated on the meter rather than a less reliable neon bulb.
#49 light bulb acts as a bias fuse to protect the sensitive bias potentiometer.
Terminals for attaching external self bias resistor.
Handy 'Plate 2' button allows for testing double section tubes without resetting selector switches.
Meter has only one scale which makes it easier to read than most other Hickok testers. A multiplier switch is set rather than using several meter scales.
Meter and roll chart are backlit, which is another neat feature not found in most Hickok brand testers. This feature really makes it fun to test in the dark, especially if you are testing 'eye' tubes.
2 plate voltages available along with a life test button and sensitive gas test.
PLEASE READ:TESTED.... but needs love, i.e. calibration, capacitors & resistors should probably be replaced as this is a very old, ONE OWNER model.*Roll chart spins but does need to be used gently.**Picture 1 shows tube being tested.***Appears my grandfather must have replaced the 9 pin tube socket next to the bias fuse indicator. See picture 1, zoom in.****Pictures show all flaws, but was kept in a 6 FT rack for 50+ years, see 2nd to last picture.*****NO case available.******NO manual included, but available, I can email it along with settings & schematics.
