Odhner Model 8 Calculator / Adding Machine
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:43833 | Maker: Original Odhner |
This calculator works, but has quirks. The pin that retains the knob on the end of the operating handle has broken and the knob will slide right off. The carriage movement buttons don’t seem to want to cover more than a range of 3 positions. To move the input levers, you must release them with the small slide switch at the lower left of the levers. I haven’t run across this mechanism before. I also haven’t seen an Odhner with a switch to select multiplication or division (top left on the calculator). Needless to say, I’d need instructions to do a thorough test.
NOTE: A sharp-eyed and more knowledgeable collector pointed out that this is an Original Odhner Model 8, not a Model 7 as I originally listed it. I have changed the title of the auction to reflect this.
