Antique French Enamel Holy Water Font, Champleve, Fine Condition, Catholic, Stunning.
Nice piece, normal patination, a few shallow scuffs on the background cross, else in perfect state, all enamel present
and uncracked..
2 part bronze font, mounted on probably bronze beveled crucifix.
Big cross is 5.5 by 3.5, champleve' is 2.75 by 2 inches.
made to mount on a quarter inch panel, note the lag on the back, or to mount and hang.
Stamped "FRANCE" on the back..., no other ID.
Pieces are finely machined, screws, font finial et al.
Questions welcomed, hopefully this fits in with the true Christmas spirti,
darned if I can do anything better.
