Up for your purchasing pleasure, a used HALLICRAFTERS model TW-1000 AM-SW-LW MULTIBAND UNIVERSAL-POWER PORTABLE VACUUM TUBE RADIO. Worksperfectly, just professionally serviced, new AC power cord, controls cleaned andlubricated, alignment checked. Very good overall cosmetics, front panel very good+ toexcellent-, dial scale excellent, antenna in very good+ condition, back cover completelyintact and closes properly. No signs ...of any abuse. Superb reception on all bands -some would call this a Zenith Trans-Oceanic wannabe but IMHO it is the Zenith that isthe Halli wannabe - the design and construction of this radio outpaces the Zenith invirtually every respect - the TV-style-turret-tuner-like bandswitch design is absolutelybrilliant and provides reliability, simplicity, tactile feedback, low loss and ease ofalignment and repair. Has world time zone map and reception chart inside front cover. Knobs are all original. Has the quad slide-switch tone control just like the Zenith. Believe that a very similarly designed radio was made for Sears Silvertone (TheWayfarer) utilizing the same basic chassis. Can operate from 117 volts AC or DChouse current or A-B 9-90 volt battery pack (be a relatively easy task to make anadaptor harness to utilize modern batteries - radio harness is completely unmolested -you would need a holder for 6 “C” or “D” cells plus a 9-volt battery snap that you couldcut in half). Has standard AM broadcast, plus LW long wave 180-400 kHz., SW 1.8 -3.9 mHz., SW 3.9 - 8.0 mHz., SW spread 9.22 - 10.3 (31 meters), SW spread 11.42 -12.3 (25 meters), SW spread 14.62 - 15.7 (19 meters), SW spread 17.32 - 18.20 (16meters).
