Up for auction is a Nez Perce Beaded Deerskin Saddle Blanket. It measures 42" long overall by 15" wide. The beadwork on each side is approximately an area of 7" by 7". Some of the beadwork is missing on one of the flowers. The other has minor loss. The piece is stained. Fringed on the end. Scalloped edges. It has some stains. Thread sewn. A well made piece. I purchased this from Sam Cox Artifacts at the most recent Owensboro Show in kentucky over the weekend. Sam had this and som...e other beaded items that came out of a Museum. They all supposedly belonged to Kit Carson. We have no idea if this is true or not. If you win this item, you can get ahold of Sam Cox and get the entire story on the piece and how he got it.
