Up for auction is a Nez Perce Beaded Riding Pillow. It measures 22" wide with the fringe and the pillow itself is about 17" long by 14" wide without any of the fringe. There is some missing fringe in places. The pillow is 5" thick. There are some stains and some marks on the back. There looks like some old repairs at one time. It appears to be thread sewn. One of the repairs has been sinew sewn while another was thread sewn. The beads are all thread sewn. I purchased this from Sa...m Cox Artifacts at the most recent Owensboro Show in kentucky over the weekend. Sam had this and some other beaded items that came out of a Museum. They all supposedly belonged to Kit Carson. We have no idea if this is true or not. If you win this item, you can get ahold of Sam Cox and get the entire story on the piece and how he got it.
