Offering an unusualFilipino edged weapon, incorporating a Moro keris blade, but instead of thetypical stylized parrot-head pommel there is a later-added deity-head grip, most likely originating from the Visayas island group , circa mid-to-late-19thcentury, the wavy blade oftypical form, a single stirrup at the hilt reinforced with a twisted brass wireacting as an anchor for the finely carved wooden hilt, the deity-head pommelwith intricate chip-carved details; overall length 22 ¾ inch...es (57.5 cm);condition: blade showing light pitting and mild oxidation throughout, ascattered extremely minor chips to the blade edges, the hilt with some minorcracks where the brass wire has pierced it for binding, otherwise in extremelygood age-appropriate condition with rich patina to the most exposed areas ofthe wood.
