THE MOUNTS ARE OF GERMAN SILVER WITH BRASS SPACER LININGS UNDER THE BULL HORN GRIPS, THE BLADE IS VERY STRONG WITH SPEAR-POINT AND MARKED ON ONE SIDE WITH MAKER NAME, IXL AND BEAUTIFUL ENGRAVED AMERICAN EAGLE HOLDING THE RIBBON WHICH SAYS "EQUAL". SCABBARD IS LEATHER OR PRESSED PAPER AND HAS GERMAN SILVER MOUNTS AND GOLD PRESSED "IXL". CONDITION IS GOOD WITH AGE WEAR AN...D PATINA SPOTS. BLADE AND HILT ARE TIGHT. LIKELY 1800s ~ CIVIL WAR ERA.
