&...nbsp;This wonderful Sioux Pouch is thread and sinew sewn of thick, brain tanned Buffalo hide. The concentric, spot stitched beadwork on the front of the Pouch features stylized human figures executed using red white-heart, cobalt blue, pea green and greasy yellow on a chalk white field. The back side of the Pouch features concentric designs including tepees executed using red white-heart, chalk white, cobalt blue and pea green on a periwinkle field. The Pouch is trimmed with a delicate border of light blue and chalk white seed beads.
The Pouch retains its original rawhide thong closure and belt hanger. There is an old 20th century tag that identifies the Pouch as “Crow / 1890” however we believe the Pouch is Sioux rather than Crow.
The Sioux Beaded Pouch offered here is unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. It is NOT a reproduction or modern recreation but an original Native American Beaded Pouch crafted in the 4th quarter of the 20th century. The Bag comes with our “no questions asked” return privilege and our lifetime guarantee of authenticity. It is guaranteed to be deemed authentic, original and as described by any qualified third party authentication service.
This very rare and original, ca1890’s Sioux Bead Decorated Circular Pouch / Peyote Bag is in excellent condition.
