This woodblock print has a signed certificate of Authenticity and information about the artist on the back.It reads Kiyoshi Saito was Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1907 . In 1942 He held a one-man show of wood-block prints at Kyukyodo Gallery, Tokyo on his land scape series, "Winter in Azu " Fish Market in Hokkaido" , ETC. And was Highly Acclaimed by Foreigners. In 1948 He was invited to Exhibit in the Joint Arts Exhibition sponsored by Mainichi Press.... In 1951 He was awarded the International Biennial Exhibition held in San Paulo, Brazil. In 1953 "Cat" was introduced in the Time Magazine as the most Outstanding Modern Wood-Block Print by a Japanese Artist. In 1956 He was invited by the State Department of America and the Asia Foundation as an Envoy for promotion of Cultural Exchange between Japan and America. Donated about 50 Prints to the University of Michigan. He has held many One-Man shows throughout the United States. His present address is Nishimikado , Kamakura City Japan.
