Rare Antique Embroidery sampler by an unknown artist, from 1843 (or even older), with intricate, delicate cross stitch.
It depicts a mill, a pigeonry, birds, pigeons, flowers, and (as I've been told) a strawberry field. The main colours are different greens, beige, pink and (strawberry) red. There is not a lot of fading, colours are still vibrant.
The sampler is in excellent condition. Beside on small spot at the bottom (middle section) all embroidery is intact.
The fr...ame measures 30 x 32 cm (11.75 x 12.5")
PS: Sorry for the slightly overexposed pictures, the colours of the embroidery are actually a bit richer. Any dark spot is just me (trying to hide behind my mobile)
