I acquired this cornet in the early 1960s. I guess I thought one of my children might be interested in playing it. None were interested in trying to play it, so it set unused since that time. The inside of the bell has a golden cast while the rest is silver. There is brass showing through as can be seen in the photos indicting that it did have good use at one time. All the slides move and can be pulled off. There are extra slides in the case. From in...formation I found on the Internet it appears that those slides were used to change the key of the instrument, but not sure about that.It appears to be in good shape with a small dent and some marks/dings on the bell section near the valves. Also, two small dings on the pipe for the mouth piece near the center valve. They can be seen in the photo showing the valves from the top. The dents/dings are small so they are a bit hard to see. All the valves move and can be taken out. It was used enough that the case handle was repaired. The mouth pieces are labeled: CONN-WONDER and CONN-MODEL (no number or letter following “MODEL”.) I will include the Bach polishing cloth I purchased to shine it a bit.
