Built two years before Herr Heberlein's death. I was going toset the existing soundpost that was rattling around inside and then set somestrings to see how it would sound. Butwhen I placed the post inside, it was sitting at about 20 degrees before it wasready to position and that was too acute for me, with those two cracks running alongthe lower body. That would put too much stress on the instrument before repair.One side of the upper bout is separating b...ut the back, sides, neck andfingerboard are in very good condition. There are only two tuning pegs. Thetailpiece is a Durro and one side of the tail-gut is hanging by a thread. Thechin rest is just marked GERMANY. The violin saddle is loose. No nut. Overall length is 23-1/4". Body measures 14-1/16". Includes a beat up Lifton case.
