Antique Civil War Era Surgeon's TREPHINE Skull Drill Brass & Wood Medical
Excellent condition. Beautiful checkered wood handle with a brass shaft and steel pilot and cutter. Pilot and cutter are complete with original points. There is what we believe to be a makers mark on the brass cap at the top of the handle, but we could not identify it. The only condition issue is where the previous owner Stamped his initials in small discrete letter on t...he side of the handle. In original "as found" condition. We believe it would be beautiful if cleaned and shined up, but will leave that decision to the new owners. This piece comes from the extensive collection of a long retired Dr who collected vintage & antique medical equipment his entire career and marker most pieces with his initials (LJG).
