Well preserved antique Orthodox iconic medal pendant featuring an iconic image of two venerated Orthodox saints, Saint Anthony of Kiev and Saint Theodosius of Kiev, the 11th-century Orthodox monks and founders of the famous Kiev Monastery of the Caves (now Kiev Pechersk Lavra in Kiev, Ukraine) shown in the background of the icon. The names of the Saints are inscribed in Church Slavonic above the image. The reverse bears an image of the Savior's Cross marked with the "IC XC" Greek Chris...togram. The medal is made from bronze or similar copper alloy and covered with brown patina. Origin likely c. late 19th century, related to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery (modern Ukraine). The medal is lightly bent and worn off likely due to devotional wearing and aging. The solid necklace bale is thin and shows signs of wear consistent with long continuous wearing.
