This wonderful and colorful 1880s Victorian scrapbook is filled with mostly trade cards, along with a few embossed die cuts, steel engravings & calling cards. The cover is outstanding and features some great vases and a chintz type plate in relief. There is some normal wear to the cover and a 5" tear to the spine as shown. The inside pages look very nice with the obligatory wear to the page edges and a few tears or missing bits -- not bad. There is one half page (we are not countin...g that one) and one blank side to one of the pages. The inside contents are overall excellent, with some age wear here and there, which is to be expected for ephemera that is about 140 years old. The cover is detached from the inside part, we believe that to be easily repairable but don't have the knowhow. Please see pictures for more details. We've also included a Youtube video where we will show you each page so you can see exactly what you'll get, since they are not all pictured here. Interestingly, many of the trade cards are from businesses on the south shore of Connecticut, including Willimantic, Norwich and New London. We also saw a few from Boston and Providence, among others. If anyone is involved in genealogy from that area of Connecticut, maybe some of these businesses were owned by your ancestors. The book contains 18 pages and will provide a lot of enjoyment for its new owner. It measures about 18" x 12". Buyer pays $10 shipping. Thank you kindly for coming to our auction.
