Antique Large Synthetic Alexandrite Color Change Sapphire Ring 14k Yellow Gold. Condition is "Pre-owned". Shipped with USPS First Class.
I’ve owned this ring for many years. I believe it to be an antique piece. The stone is a color changing sapphire, otherwise known as synthetic Alexandrite. This was very popular in the past century and into the 50’s and 60’s. They are now hard to find and costly.
The stone itself is stunning! Beautifully cut in a round shape of approximate...ly 6 carats. It sparkles wonderfully! The sapphire measures approximately 12mm x 12mm. The color changes in direction and lighting from a violet with hints of pink to a deep purplish raspberry with hints of green. It is hard to capture the stunning color change on camera! Stone is in wonderful shape with only a small scratch to the top. Stone moves slightly in setting, but is secure,
The setting is a basket type mounting and very unique. It is 14k yellow gold, although it has a rosy hue. There are no hallmarks, but it does test at 14k. There are a few marks to the bottom of the band.
It is a tight size 5. And it weighs 3.5 grams. Last picture shows how the stone glows under a black light.
