Description: A fine antique silver Victorian visiting card case Maker: Colen Hewer Cheshire Assay Office: Birmingham Year: 1892 Dimensions: 33.5g, 8cm x 5cm Condition: 3- (out of 5, given the object’s ag...e and function) – good with very good marks. The case shows some signs of use/wear: its corners are slightly bruised and its front surface is slightly concave, as if repeatedly held by the middle to open the lid. The cartouche may have been erased as the blank space bleeds into the pattern that surrounds it. The lid works well and fits snugly, however, and the chasing is bright and clear.
