Purchased from an estate and was told the owners traveled all over Europe many years ago. I had it appraised and was told the lid is silver but not sterling (so less than .925 silver). The blue and white is from damaged oriental porcelain. It was made and purchased sometime in the 1960's-80's. These were mass produced for tourists back then (and I'm told they continue to). The country of origin is unknown, but likely an Asian country. I did polish it some but some of the old patina is ...still viable. There are some dings and wear, to be expected with its age.
