Here we have a very fine antique calabash gourd Sherlock Holmes style estate pipe with a meerschaum bowl lining and white metal mounts.
The ferrule is stamped with the maker's mark "GWS" over "JC" (for 'Singleton & Cole') as wellas with the initials "SCB" in shields."300" is stamped on the calabash.
It has been carefully smoked and remains in excellent condition overall - a couple of small chipson the calabash - light wear and a few tiny dings on the bowl rim - light tar...nishing to the ferrule.
There is a shallow layer of carbon in the chamber.
The stem screws very securely to the shank, and air flows through the pipe freely.
Please note: the pipe stand is not included in this auction.
