This is an antique whisky jug / decanter which stands 11 inches high (including the stopper); measures 5 1/2 inches wide approximately and it weighs 532 grams. This whisky jug is from a range of unique designed jugs and decanters ordered from Shelley Potteries Ltd. for the Scottish Whisky Distillers and Blenders James Watson of Dundee. It is a 1815 - 1915 Centenary Souvenir jug / decanter with blue and white pictorial transfers of the Duk...e of Wellington 1815 to one side and Field Marshall Haig 1915 to the other side - all set on an attractive dark blue & white floral background. The front of the jug has a white shield with "Jas. Watson & Co. Ltd. Distillers Estd. 1815 Centenary Souvenir" and on the base you can see "Made in England for Jas. Watson & Co. Ltd. Dundee" together with the registration number 625614. It comes with its original stopper complete with cork. The condition of both the jug and stopper is good with no splits, cracks, nicks, damage or restoration and the colours are bright and crisp with no loss or scratches - the gilding is also in good condition.
