Antique Miniature Dominos Possibly Napoleonic Prisoner of War
These are delightful miniature Dominos in their original wooden box. It has been suggested they are Napoleonic Prisoner of War Bone work. Bone carvings were made by prisoners to earn money and occupy the prisoners time. As they were prisoners of war they were not considered dangerous and so were allowed knifes. Their work was encouraged by the authorities as it kept the men busy and so less lightly to cause trouble.
...This set of dominos is compleat, 28 peaces. Not all the peaces are the same depth, please see the photos. Each domino is different as they are hand made. They have been used and played with.
The dominos are approximately 14mm x 7mm.The box measures approximately 59mm long by 24mm wide and about 15mm high. Please look at the photographs carefully for overall condition, they are part of the description.
