This lovely antique book is in very good condition for its age. The cover color is still very vibrant with minimal wear. Yellow print on the spine is clear and readable. Corners of the book are in excellent condition with no rounding. Front end papers are attached but last end paper is a little loose but not detached. See picture.
An inscription on the first page was whited out at some point in this books existence. See picture.
Some of the pages have little stains bu...t nothing major. See pictures.
There are a handful of pictures throughout the text. See pictures for examples.
There is a really neat, fully attached map in the back that is in perfect condition.
On the very back looks to be an old fashioned "sticky note" from what appears to be the first department store in history, Hawaii's Pioneer Paper House, the Hawaiian News Company of Bishop Street, according to old history books. The book was quite possibly purchased at this location.
Published in 1917 by Dodd, Mead and Company of New York. Updated or second printing as the first was originally in 1913.
