This Victorian 1800's Mourning Locket 14KT Gold (tested) ID Salem Boston Mass Penniman family is beautifully crafted and details 3 members who died from 1819 to 1841 as follows:Father - Lovett Penniman, born April 8, 1787 - Died 1819 MassachusettsMother - Sally Penniman, born November 5, 1791 - Died May 22, 1841 Boston and Salem, Massachusetts (Maiden Name: Sarah CloutmanDaughter - Amy Perriman - born 1818 - died... June 16, 1841The locket is jeweler scripted Victorian etched with each family members name and death date. There is a glass compartment on the opposite side to hold mourning hair lockets. The outside of the locket is inscribed with the initials of the Penniman who owned the locket. I believe it belonged to the only surviving sibling (Sarah Penniman) who lived until 1900. It is very sad to read that the owner lost both her sister and mother in the same 1841 calendar year. The locket measures 2.75" when opened.
