For sale is this original Vintage Navajo Sand Painting. The design shows a Yeibichai dancer, a basket, and a rug. This is not a traditional design, but a more artistic variation of the traditional art form. The oak frame is 17.5" x 17.5" and the sand painting is 11" x 11" in size. This one is not signed by the artist, but is stamped with the Trading Posts Mark Hozhoni Cortez.
Traditionally these sand paintings were created by a medicine man & used to... heal an individual of a certain illness. This practice is still done and these ancient designs are kept sacred. Incomplete or altered designs are sold in most Trading Posts. Feel free to make me an offer and please ask any questions before purchase.

Condition is USED. I cut open the dust cover on the back to locate the artist's name. Other than that, there is NO damage to the sand painting. Minor wear to the frame. Please see photos as they are part of my description.
