While this unit comes with a Cine-Kodak, it was used in a scientific capacity to film through a microscope lens (included).
I haven’t been able to find out much about this unit, however it was gifted to me by a photography professor at Hampden-Sydney College and could have possibly been used in their biology department (assuming it was once the College’s).
About this Unit:• The first motion ...picture camera produced by Eastman Kodak in the early 1920's• Matte black aluminum camera body with black leather handle• Front of camera has a plaque that reads "Cine-Kodak...Made in U.S.A. by Eastman Kodak Co...Rochester, N.Y." and the serial number 01252• Back of camera features 2 dials (top for aperture, bottom for focus) and a film gauge• Left side of camera has a latch that opens the film door and exposes the inside of the camera• Right side of camera has directions for using the manual crank function to advance film for filming• Comes with Bausch and Lomb photomicrography lens (lens has been stripped from screws on camera body)• Base has a plaque that reads "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co...Rochester, N.Y. U.S.A...No. 259"
Condition of Camera:• Camera is currently inoperable• Some signs of wear along the outside edges• Paint is mostly intact• Viewfinder functions• Film door functions and locks• Hand crank is missing as this item was driven by the electric motor
Condition of Base:• Base is currently inoperable• Paint shows signs of wear in parts (particularly between the gearbox and the camera mount)• Electric motor has been removed from base (motor and original hardware provided)• Electric cord needs to be replaced as it was severely damaged and cut• Gearbox has had all grease removed
Camera Dimensions: 8.5"L x 4.625"W x 8"HBase Dimensions: 13”L x 11”W x 15”HTotal Weight: Roughly 55 lbs.
All pieces will be wrapped in bubble wrap and ship in a 16”x16”x16” box with packaging peanuts via UPS.
