Vintage BIFF THE BEAR By MATTEL 1965 — Still Talks Mouth Moves Circa 1965
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:468722 | Year: 1965 |
Brand: Mattel |
Who remembers these plush toys that “talked” that Mattel put out for years in the 60s and 70s. Biff the Bear was an evolution of sorts since the mouth moved. That was a big deal back then.
This Biff the Bear is from my family home and it was one of our childhood toys. Since this was a children’s toy, I can only rate it as “good” condition. But it still talks and the mouth moves so that's important, plus its very... clean overall.
Besides what is considered the typical “signs of age” on it’s clothes and body, there is “paint rub” on the mouth and snout. The white in the eyes shows paint rub probably due to cleaning. (Oddly, I seem to remember there was always some paint missing on the mouth… hmmmm) There appears to be some flecks missing from the “name tag” on the shirt. Again, this is not a new item but a used child’s toy but the voice works(!) and I have noticed some people on Etsy make clothes for plush items like this.
From my smoke-free and pet-free home. I’m selling items to pay for unexpected medical bills so any reasonable offer will be considered. Thanks!
