First US edition of the classic "peacock edition" of Austen's best known work. 1894 date in the peacock's tail on the title page. I am unsure whether this was published simultaneously with the UK edition. Book is good to very good condition. The spine has been partially rebacked and there has been some restoration work to the spine ends. The gilt on the spine has dulled slightly but still presents quite nicely. The front panel is in wonderful condition. Internally there are some minor ...water stains on the endpapers. Offsetting to the title page from the frontispiece tissue guard. Spine has a slight lean. This book is housed in a custom clamshell case for maximum protection. I have loved having this book in my collection but it is time to pass it on to someone else.
