This is an antique African American wind up bobble head doll released in the 1940's in US Zone Germany. This is an amazing find because it is in absolutely gorgeous condition. It is made entirely of paper mache' and hand painted with exquisite detail. He measures approximately 7 1/2'' tall and the wind up mechanism works perfectly!
When you wind the key on his back he walks forward and his head bobbles back and forth. He is 100% original with excellent paint ...with only one minor paint nick on the back of his head. He face paint is perfect! Look at that expression! His cigarette is removable.
His clothing is felt on top and stitched perfectly with no holes or discoloration. His pants are cotton and are stitched at the ankles, but just wrapped and glued around each leg. His shoes are all paper mache' painted black.
He comes with his original brown box labeled "Made in US-Zone Germany" and even his original tissue paper is inside. He comes from a serious collector's home smoke-free home and is truly a find for any serious collector. A triple collectible item - African American, Wind Up, and Bobblehead.
