Crandallite is a super rare opaque phosphate. This sample definitelyneeds magnification to be seen~! My close-...up photos were taken through themicroscope. The Palermo Mine is well known to manycollectors for its unusual assemblage of about 155 different minerals, 14 TypeLocality minerals, and a very large number of rare phosphate species, includingCrandallite. Located west of the Plymouth Memorial Airport, the Palermo Minehas been in operation since 1863. This micromount was in a bunch of Bob Rothenberg’s micromountsand is from the estate of Walter Bagley. Thisspecimen sits nicely on a blackened cork which is mounted on a black paperinsert in a standard clear plastic micromount box. The white Rothenberg label onthe m/m box is clearly visible from top to bottom.
