Up for sale is a first printing of Marjorie Kinnan Rawling's The Yearling published in 1938 by Charles Scribner's Sons. The book measures 8.5" X 6" and is 428 pages in length, featuring illustrations by Edward Shenton. The original dust jacket is missing and there is some general minor soiling to the exterior cloth as well as some staining to the grooves along the edges of the spine (see photos 2-5). The previous owner's bookplate is affixed to the front paste-down, b...ut the text is unmarked. I noticed a few pages that had creased corners like the one shown in the final photo, but the vast majority are in very clean shape. The hinges are tight and the binding is sturdy; overall this is a very readable copy. Please be sure to fully enlarge the provided photos, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
