This January auction I am continuing to downsize my personal collection, with several Gallantry Awards, Medals/Decorations as well as other quality Militaria listed. Feel free to ask questions and please enjoy!
Up for auction is a large World War Two Canadian photo lot, consisting of 112 photos in one album and 7 large loose photos. The album includes some excellent shots of the early British Jet Fighter Gloster Meteor (Mark III), as well as late WW2 R.C.A.F. and R.A.F. photos mixed with family photos, soldier photos from "Prairie Creek", Edmonton Areo Club, crashed planes, tourist sites in London and Stonehenge, and more. Interestingly the photo album is not named to one person, although it was likely a R.C.A.F. Servicemen who may have had relatives in the Army prior to World War Two (a 1935 photo of an early tank can be seen, which is quite out of place.) Certain photos have fallen out of the album over time, and a large worn 1941 dated R.C.A.F. Wireless School photo from Calgary is included. One photo in the album identifies a Spitfire Pilot Officer, George Dennis Aitken, who was a friend of the owner of the album.
A nice mixed WW2 photo album, this would be excellent for photographic reference and enjoyable to look through, great for any World War Two photography collection.
