CDV of the main gate at Yorktown, Virginia. Soldiers and an officer on horseback can be seen near the gate, and the colonial houses of the city can be seen behind the wall. Yorktown was placed under siege from April 5-18, 1862 at the beginning of the Peninsula Campaign. This photograph was taken shortly after it's capture by Federal troops.
