Offered for auction today; A VERY RARE original World War 1 era glass "Magic Lantern" slide, featuring the Hospital Ship "Britannic" (sister ship of the "Titanic), at anchor with the "Galena" along side, photographed at Mudros. Britannic tragically struck a mine and sank in November, 1916. The slide is in excellent condition, with its original hand-written paper labels. No chips, cracks, etc. The image itself is extremely crisp and shows off a lot of really nice details. Amazing to see... in person. When properly scanned or photographed on a light bed, it will show up much better than the photos here in the auction, with almost a three-dimensional effect to it. Measures 3 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches. A fantastic piece to add to your Titanic, Britannic, or White Star Line Collection. Be sure to check out our other auctions for more great ORIGINAL ocean liner photos including another Britannic glass plate negative, RMS Olympic, Mauretania, etc.
