Capodimonte Boy Eating Watermelon Porcelain Figure Giuseppe Cappè. in excellent condition. This is a wonderful Capodimonte handpainted porcelain figurine depicting a young boy eating watermelon. Bright, vivid colors and wonderful skin tones are handpainted on this superbly detailed figure. The details are amazing! Check out his boots!! This figure is from the Italian G. Cappe Works of Art studio and is very hard to find. It is in excellent condition - t are no chips, cracks or repairs... that I can detect. This fine porcelain figurine measures approximately 6 3/4" high . The bottom is signed G. Cappe 99005 and is also impressed with the year 1960. Signor Giuseppe Cappe', creator of the magnificent Cappe' figures, was born in Cittiglio, Italy in 1921. In 1958 he opened his own factory - Porcellane Cappe-Creazioni di Giuseppe Cappe. Although it is true that Cappe figures are begun from a series of intricate molds, all of the fine detail work is entirely hand done. All fine details, such as wisps of hair, fingers, toes, flowers, leaves, etc.l, have been created entirely by hand and are hand applied.
