Striking pair of German porcelain figurines, presumably from the Meissen manufacture in the 19th century, perhaps earlier, depicting a couple dressed in the eighteenth-century fashion. The intricate golden decoration of the man's vest stands out, as well as the detailed decoration with flowers of the feminine dress. Both on a base decorated with black and white rhombuses. Manufacturing marks on the base. It still has the sticker from the last auction in which they were sold, which I ha...ve not wanted to remove as proof of provenance, which says "Maurice Adams Antiques. Old German Porc ..."
Measurement: About 15 inches high x 4.25 inches diameter in base.
