More about Fay Wray and Phillips Holmes:
Vina Fay Wray (September 15, 1907 – August 8, 2004) was a Canadian-born American actress best remembered for starring as Ann Darrow in the 1933 film King Kong. Through an acting career that spanned nearly six decades, Wray attained international recognition as an actress in horror films. She has been dubbed one of the early "scream queens".After appearing in minor film roles, Wray gained media attention after being selected as one of the "WAMPAS Baby Stars" in 1926. This led to her being contracted to Paramount Pictures as a teenager, where she made more than a dozen feature films. After leaving Paramount, she signed deals with various film companies, being cast in her first horror film roles, in addition to many other types of roles, including in The Bowery (1933) and Viva Villa (1934), both of which starred Wallace Beery. For RKO Radio Pictures, Inc., she starred in the film with which she is most identified,  King Kong (1933). After the success of King Kong, Wray made numerous appearances in both film and television; she retired in 1980.Biography: WikipediaBorn in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Edna Phillips and stage star Taylor Holmes, Holmes enjoyed a privileged childhood and received his education at Trinity College, Cambridge, the University of Grenoble and a year at Princeton University where he was spotted in the undergraduate crowd during the filming of Frank Tuttle's Varsity in 1928 and offered a screen test. In the early 1930s, he became a popular leading man, playing leads in a few important productions, notably in Josef von Sternberg's An American Tragedy (1931).At Paramount, he starred in melodrama and comedy. In 1933, his contract with Paramount ran out and he moved to MGM for one year. As the decade progressed, Holmes' career declined, and he appeared in a few box-office failures, including Sam Goldwyn's poorly received Nana (1934). His last American movie was General Spanky (1936). In 1938, he appeared in two UK movies. Housemaster was his last film, and he returned to acting on stage in the United States. In 1933, Holmes was driving with actress Mae Clarke when he crashed into a parked car. Clarke, who suffered a broken jaw and facial cuts, sued Holmes for US $21, 500 (equivalent to $424, 639 in 2019), claiming that he had been driving while drunk. Clarke dropped the suit when Holmes agreed to pay her medical expenses. At the start of World War II, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was killed in a mid-air collision in northwest Ontario, Canada.Biography: WikipediaMore on E.R. Richee:Eugene Robert Richee began his career during the silent film era and landed his first job at Paramount through his friend Clarence Sinclair Bull. He worked under Donald Biddle Keyes taking portraits of the stars, and went on to manage department after Keyes left. During the two decades Richee was at Paramount, he photographed the studio’s top stars - Clara Bow, Gloria Swanson, Rudolph Valentino, Claudette Colbert, Carole Lombard, Marlene Dietrich, Betty Grable, Veronica Lake and the Marx Brothers. His most famous work is a 1928 portrait of Louise Brooks, the zeitgeist of the Roaring 20’s who popularized the bob haircut.
