Here's an early pontiled 3 pc mold blown decanter from the 1840s with very crude applied bar lip....diamond hobnail pattern with 7 rings around lower shoulder....small panels around base....hand blown in 3 part mold...rough pontil scar on bottom....real crude misshaped applied ring big "bar lip"....clear flint glass....9 1/2"tall (12 1/2"with stopper).....although the hollow glass stopper has matching diamond hobnail pattern and fits perfect, I believe it may have been added lat...er because it has a little "shear" mark on top like cruets and other glassware of the 1890s...Decanter and stopper are both in sparkling mint condition with no chips or damage. Shiny clean with no haze....
