Vintage Minifon Protona Mi-51 Spy Wire Recorder - 1950s espionage.
Original Protana Minifon wire recorder. Highly collectable as an artifact of cold war espionage. Introduced in 1951, this early miniaturized recording device used three Philips miniature vacuum tubes and intricate electromechanical design to implement one of the earliest examples of covert recording equipment.
I offer this original example for sale. Overall condition is good as shown, There is some inte...rnal corrosion around the battery terminals. I have not disassembled or tried to test this device, it is being sold as a static display piece.
No accessories other than the recorder and case pictured are included.
