This is a restored and working verywell Coronado model 94RA31-43-8115B vacuum tube table top AM radio named Cuband first introduced in 1949. This smallradio receives stations very well with good clear warm analog vacuum tube soundand volume with no hum using just the short wire antenna extending out the back. It has been tested for several days andshould continue to play loud and clear for many, many more years. I have restored over 500 old radios in thelast 10 ye...ars.The case is mottled dark mahoganybrown with no cracks, chips or odors. Ihave thoroughly washed the case and it looks remarkable for a 71 year old. The original hardboard back is still in greatcondition. This restored radio would look nice and retro on a table or shelfand could be used as a daily AM radio.The inside chassis has beenthoroughly cleaned; the volume control de-oxidized for smooth volume changesand all moving controls lubricated. Failure of old capacitors is the most commonreason old radios don’t work so all old electrolytic and paper capacitors inthe chassis have been replaced with new modern capacitors and I have checkedall resistors. Brittle or bare wiring has been replaced or re-insulated. The photosunderneath the chassis show the quality and neatness of my electricalwork. All easily found tubes have beentested and questionable tubes have been replaced. The power cord hasbeen replaced with a new 18 gauge brown cord with a molded, polarizedplug. The speaker is in greatcondition. The radio has been alignedand successfully bench tested for at least 12 hours over several days. The radio size is approximately 5¾”high by 8¼” wide by 4¼” deep and weighs just less than 3 pounds. Shipping weight should be about 4 pounds.I take pride in my shipping and theradio will be insured and carefully packaged to arrive safely.
