Apple Macintosh Powerbook 5300c Mac laptop, manufactured in 1995 or 1996. 16 MB RAM, 500 MB HD, 100 MHz PowerPC 603e with a 10.4" 640x480 active matrix color LCD display. Mac OS 8.1 is installed but I've also included installers for Mac OS 7.5.3, 7.5.5, and 8.6, plus additional software including HyperCard, BBEdit Lite, Acrobat Reader, iCab (default web browser), Claris Emailer Lite (default e-mail), JPEGView, SoundApp, and installers for Outlook Express, Internet Explorer, ...and Netscape Communicator. Original retail price: $3900.
Best of all, I've configured this laptop and one or two others I'm selling separately to connect to an unencrypted Wi-Fi network and browse the web using an Orinoco Silver card (I'm selling mine separately) in one of its PC Card slots. An Orinoco Gold card might also connect to an encrypted Wi-Fi network, but I haven't tested this.
This computer works nicely and is very responsive, but its battery will not charge, so the laptop must be plugged in to function, and even then it can shut down unexpectedly if it's moved while powered up. A working battery will solve that problem, and isn't hard to find. The rear port cover is missing and one of the two feet does not extend with its spring-loader, but it can be extended manually. A power adaptor is not included; I only have one (M3037) for two 5300c-series laptops so I'm selling it separately. The pictured LocalTalk connectors I use to network my vintage PowerBooks are also not included; I'm selling two groups of them separately with cables and terminators included.
If my Orinoco Silver card, power adaptor, and/or my LocalTalk network adaptor set(s) are purchased with this, I can bundle them in the same package, lowering shipping costs. I will include a carrying case with whichever order for my laptops is for the highest dollar amount.
