This vintage set of six individual small Black Basalt pottery bowls were made by Wedgwood in England. The Wedgwood and Made in England markings are underneath on the bottom of each bowl.
These types of small bowls were placed at formal dinner parties to hold water so guests could rinse their fingertips between courses. They were also used to hold treats such as candy or nuts next to each dinner plate at the table.
Each bowl measures approximately 1 1/2 ...inches in height, 3 1/4 inches across the rim and 1 7/8 inches across the bottoms.
All of these cups bowls are in excellent condition being free of any damage.
