Original Description:
The experts agree, this is the best Fender amp ever made, period.
If you don’t have the book “Fender, the First 50 Years”, you should.  No one knows vintage Fender amps better than these guys, that’s for sure.  And you know what they said about the blackface Pro Reverb?
Simply that it’s the best amplifier ever produced, due to its combination of two 12” speakers, ultra-quality reverb and tremolo, and just the right amount of power to go from clean to down ...& dirty breakup.  They wrote, and I quote, “The authors recommend the blackface Pro Reverb as the best all-around amp ever made - by anyone.”
The sound is crisp and clean when you need it.  Sweet, round, and full. Yet turn it up to 3 or 4 and you start getting that raw crunch guitarists die for.  Unlike other amps you don’t have to crank it so loud that your ears bleed to get that desirable blues/rock overdrive.  It rewards you even at low to medium volume, which is remarkable. And up at 5 or 6 you unleash a fire-breathing rip-roaring sonic dragon.
The ‘66 Pro Reverb you see here is not only all original, from outside to inside, it’s also in spectacular near mint condition.  The chrome still gleams, the grille cloth is unmarred pristine, and the black tolex looks like it left the 1966 Fender factory a week ago.  Even the control panel looks time-machine clean, with the white graphics clear as day. Check out the pics, the condition is spectacular.
Jack your favorite guitar into it, and the PR’s dual 6V6’s and AX7’s deliver like you won’t believe until you hear it.  And with a full complement of nine knobs, and more, you control a wonderland of tones.
Now tap the footswitch.  The tube-driven spring-reverb and tremolo circuits are also the best Fender ever made, sought-after by guitarists worldwide.  But the real secret to the blackface PR is the prized power output combined with its smaller output transformer -- resulting in a huge range even at low volume, or of course, maxed to bring-the-house-down.
The original twin 12” Utah speakers are the same as The Beatles used in their blonde Bassman.  And with good reason. They have a round warmer vibe that most Jensens can’t come close to.
All the pots are original too, and dated from mid ‘66.  The speakers are both the 17th week of 1966. Everything is dead straight, without a single mod or repair ever.  One filter cap -- one -- has been changed, that’s it. Plus the amp’s been upgraded with the best tubes that money can buy.
If you’re looking for the finest blackface Pro Reverb on the planet, you found it. This one has it all, in spades. Condition, originality, and sound.  Yes, it’s expensive. You can buy a Pro Reverb for less. But it certainly won’t look like this one.
Complete with its original 2-button footswitch, Fender black vinyl cover, both red hang-tags, the original Fender amps brochure and envelope, plus the full length 1966-67 Fender Guitar and Amp Service book.
$3, 975                      $150 standard shipping (the amp weighs over 50 lbs).
