This is a vintage white china figurine by Hutschenreuther, name unknown but my mother used to call it "Cupid Scorned" (for whatever reason, I do not know but I don't think that is the correct name of the piece). I have found one on line source that listed it as 'Psyche and Cupid', but the cherub has no wings, so I don't know if that is the correct name or not....or it could be simply 'Mother and Child'. It probably dates to about 1940 or so, because as long as I can remembe...r, it sat on mom's dressing table and no children were to touch it. At any rate, this is a truly beautiful piece of vintage German china and the detail is exquisite. I simply have no place to showcase this lovely heirloom, and so it is up for bids. It is in perfect condition, absolutely no chips, cracks, or other flaws in it. It bears the mark on the base of Hutschenreuther Selb, with the trademark Lion, LHS, Germany Kunstabteilung. The original paper sticker is still on the bottom of the piece too, hand written with the number 2210/W. Presumably this is the figurine model number and finish. Shipping is via USPS Priority with full insurance and tracking. The figurine will be heavily bubble wrapped and double boxed.
