Vintage/1960-85> 5 1/2" dia. Wind-up CHELSEA Company "BOSTON" Ship's Clock, made in the U.S., With a Wooden Saddle and official CHELSEA Replacement Key. WORKS.
Vintage> 5 1/2''dia. round ''BOSTON Shipstrike'' Clock with wooden 'saddle' to place on your mantle/table/desk. States in small black letters at the 6 o'clock position: "Chelsea Clock U.S.A." Maritime type. WIND UP, not quartz model. Official CHELSEA Replacement KEY included. #1.2854 is etched int...o the upper ring of the case on the back. Chelsea Clocks say that they do not give Certificates of Origin for "SHIPSTRIKE'' models.Hinged bezel operated by a push button on the side to access the inner face to wind/set the clock/alarm/speed. NO serious issues: Works.Official ''CHELSEA'' company replaced key that works. This clock and its saddle were inherited and have been stored since 2000. Key replaced then.Condition > Light atmospheric-induced aging of the brass case. I have not polished it and will leave that up to the new owner. There appears to be some of the 'finish'(coating/sealer?) left on the casing. There is a very small patch of verdigris as seen in one of the photo closeups but NOT 'deep' and could be polished out. No pitting, just a metal ''murkiness'', aka dirt/discoloration, running along the upper portion where it was mounted in its saddle for some time and left alone before I received it: see some of the photos. Since most people like to have 'untouched' condition on valuable items, I didn't touch it, and I wouldn't know what to do without messing it up, anyway. NO cracks or chips or scratches in the glass/crystal covering. Winds correctly. I have not 'watched' it to judge the 'timing' but since the levers/switches work, YOU get to do that. Sent with the wooden 'saddle' that came with it and the key.All the levers work/move. Sold "AS IS". No returns, so ask your questions NOW, please. Though I know absolutely nothing more than what I've already stated, I might be able to 'find out'.. or not. But I'll try. Just have patience, please.Now for the boring-if-necessary bits.
