Original Description:
Being offered is a nice old antique African sword of the Tikar tribe of Cameroon.  This sword measures 23" in total length.  The handle is wood with a round pommel with ribbed design.  The very bottom of the grip is wrapped in metal wire.  The wheel pommel has some chips and some areas of the wood have been left unfinished.  By that, I mean they were not painted or dyed like the rest of the handle.  The handle is most likely younger than the blade.  T...he blade is a very nice one.  It is a robust and heavy blade and features 9 fullers at the tip that converge into 5 that run to the handle.  These fullers give the blade a strong ribbed feel.  The blade is quite sharp and there is some edge nicks towards the tip suggestive that this sword saw some action.  Please e-mail with any questions.  Please view my other auctions for a great variety of swords, daggers and tribal art.
