DHR Den Haan Rotterdam 4" Lacquered Copper Oil Ship's Nautical Anchor Light. We ordered this functional oil lantern directly from the manufacturer, Den Haan Rotterdam, around 1990 and it is an absolutely beautiful hand-made work of art. DHR was founded in 1922 and has been in the business of providing lighting and ship's horn equipment for ocean-going vessels ever since. If you're looking for an authentic ship's oil lantern, DHR is the go-to provider. This ancho...r light is an operational original and is not in any way a reproduction. It is intended to hang in the rigging of a vessel at night in order to identify that boat or ship as lying at anchor. It of course also makes a wonderful nautical home decor piece, and is really a treat to look at when lit. I recommend using liquid paraffin if you're going to be enjoying it indoors, as it burns much cleaner than standard lamp oil.
This lantern is complete with its brass oil tank (completely empty) and burner assembly, and its glass chimney which I will wrap separately. This lantern has been packed away for the past two decades, so it really is in wonderful condition. The lantern is about 9" tall and 5-1/2 inches across, so its a nice size. It's glass lens is 4" in diameter, hence its name. The weight of the lantern is 2 lbs, 12 oz. Spare parts and chimneys are available.
